1987 | 1988 | 1989 | 1990 | 1991 | 1992 | 1993 | 1994 | 1995 | 1996All Chevy magazine was published monthly by McMullen Publishing. Content was all about Chevy performance including the latest tidbits from Detroit and the after-market scene. The editor featured "classic Chevrolets" (which were defined as 1955-1957s), '60s era muscle cars and occasionally a newer or older pre-1948 vehicle. It included hot-to's and the latest technology tips, and these were intended to be useful and less about theory. Covers generally featured nostalgic imagery and earnest but goofy staged scenes associated with car repair, street racing, beach side fun, baseball, car detailing, drive-ins and high school.
Publishing began in August, 1987 in a full-sized format. It started as a quarterly publication, moved to bi-annual, and then became a monthly title in June, 1989.
As background, Tom McMullen was the founder and publisher of Street Rodder magazine. McMullen published numerous other titles when this publication started, including Truckin', Popular Cars, Kit Car Illustrated, VW Trends, and Mustang Illustrated.
In May 1995, All Chevy was purchased as part of a larger transaction involving multiple titles by K-III Inc. (later Primedia Inc.) for $55 million. Publication continued for a few more months after the acquisition.
