As if by Accident Book

All in all it was a really pleasant reading, though a little weak in the plot department. It gave me the impression that the author sketched a time line with main plot points and then just wrote a few paragraphs around every point to make it into a relatively short novel. The way almost every event is related to one another doesn't benefit the novel's authenticity. And it seems that "trifle" is the author's favourite word for "a little," "slightly," "somewhat," "a bit," and many more synonyms worth considering. I imagine this book is a transition between Johnston's young adult and adult writing, and I am waiting for a next, more developed, novel (if there are such plans), because her insightful and amusing style is worth continuing.
