Typical items found in the house are counted from one to ten.
In another counting lesson, kids are presented with items and they can count from one to ten. The items are supposed to be things seen around the house. The numeral is shown in Arabic format and then the item is named. It open with 1 rocking chair, but it would be hard to discern that this is a rocking chair. The 2 soft slippers could be mittens. Three and four are very clearkittens and sippy cups. There are colorful bowls, spoons, balls and stuffed animals. The numbers nine and 10 are represented by blocks with numerals on them and then crayons. The lesson could be extended to include naming the colors of the objects depicted. There is nothing that makes this book stand out among the many board books that introduce counting. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
