A MESSAGE FROM THE CREATIVE DIRECTOR
When I came back from vacation on November 4th, the January/February issue of Rookies was lying on my desk. It was 8:30 a.m. A note was paper-clipped to the cover. It said: HOW DO YOU LIKE THE NEW ISSUE? Signed, the staff.
Let me start by saying that it's tough, real tough, to launch a new magazine in a very competitive marketplace. We had many meetings after the first issue and I wanted a lot of changes made...big changes...sweeping changes...mandatory changes! Why? Because we have heard the cries of the people. There is a demand for a magazine like ROOKIES and I will not sleep until we bring to you, the very best amateur girlie magazine anywhere.
Am I a hard-ass? A tough case who only wants things done his way? The answer is yes...and no. I'm a guy who believes that no matter what, the reader comes first. If we get enough letters from guys who want to see one-eyed, pigeon-toed, knock-knee virgins, I'll search every god-forsaken crevice in the world to find them and put them in Rookies. You, our reader, is and always will be, King.
Take a look through this month's offerings. Each Rookie has been hand-picked by me, and let me tell you my standards are very high. I want only the best, and I'll settle for no less!
I've hired a brand-new creative team. They're experienced, excited, and know how to deliver the kind of magazine you are looking for. We're not going to bullshit you and say that every girl appearing in Rookies is a virgin, or a non-stop, sucking-fucking machine. What you'll get are actual photos and true-to-life stories about young girls who really could be your next-door neighbor, baby-sitter or high-school teacher.
