EDITORIAL
What with all the excitement over that big fat year-2000 rolling in, we thought something special was required for this year's DIRECTORY cover. And we found it: not just one, but two stars! Two for 2000—wildly popular Axel Garrett, back from a six-year retirement, and shining new star Lane Fuller, just embarking on what promises to be an extraordinary career.Not only do we have more on the cover, there's more inside too. This edition sets a record for the number of currently-producing video companies-70!—whose work is reviewed in these pages. And with the proliferation of new companies in 1999—in the U.S. and abroad—we expect even more next year. Our photo-illustrated Reviews section contains 240 brand new reviews—no holdovers—the Other Videos pages receiving many additional reviews for which photos were unavailable. We continue to add to our Performer videographies (all new titles in blue) and Awards coverage, and our Mail Order (with Websites) and Retailer indexes are the most comprehensive ever. One page we were happy to lose: Obituaries. We did not hear of any porn star deaths last year. Let's hope this continues way into the new millennium.
