Stony Brook, New York (Images of America Series)

While this book has an old-fashion look and feel, it is chock full of great details and photographs of old New Orleans. More of a reference book than something to read, this book begins the story of New Orleans in about 1717. Despite the subtitle, A Pictorial History, and the fact it is full of wonderful illustrations, this book is not just to look at but is full of information and details every historian will enjoy. Huber includes an excellent bibliography and index.
