I'm a big fan of the writings of prolific author Regina Puckett. This is a romance story of two people who do not wish to be involved in a lifelong relationship because of their sad backgrounds. In Murfreesboro, Tennessee, in Dreams on Canvas Art Gallery, Seth Black is more attracted to the incredibly beautiful legs of owner Suzette Warren than any art display. He's decided his manners should be better if he wants to have a good business relationship with her. Seth's manager wants him to have his portrait painted for his next album cover. Seth is a country music singer and song writer, whereas Suzette has never listened to any country music, regardless of being raised in Tennessee, the hot spot of country music. She is intrigued with Seth's good looks and strong body. It's hard for her to concentrate on the tasks of sorting through artwork as they talk. He's likewise attracted to her, but he's adamant about staying away from love's trap; it would only lead to heartbreak. Suzette wants to learn more about him. She isn't sure she wants to paint his portrait. After hearing him sing ... songs of great loss, pain, and sorrow ... she is more than willing to do his artwork. As Seth leaves the gallery and returns to his truck, a written note is on the passenger seat: an unknown brother is wanting money to not reveal secrets of Seth's music legend father, Montgomery Black. Seth is very concerned about just who this man is wanting to bring back scandals to his family. Suzette soon decides to accept Seth's invitation to spend two weeks on his road trip with his band. This way she'll be able to get to know Seth better while making sketches of him along the way for him to choose from. This is a very entertaining romance. When two people don't want to suffer a brief love only to be lost, how can they believe in each other's feelings?
