I COULDN'T STOP READING!

I fell asleep with this book in my hand, woke up the next morning and continued reading because I had to see how it ended.

I didn't want to like Beau Taylor, but somehow Ann Christopher turned the tables on me and made me actually warm up to this sleaze bag SOB who'd hurt and publicly humiliated his wife. Man, I felt so sorry for Jillian! Can you imagine having panic attacks because of what someone did to you? This was a hard book to get through, but like a rubbernecker gawking at a roadside accident, I couldn't stop.

I don't like heroes crying in my romance novels, and definitely not if he's an alpha male. But Beau cried, a number of times, and somehow...it worked. Maybe that was part of what made me tolerate him, because he showed some remorse, some humanity, because deep down the bastard really loved his wife despite his actions, and because of--and I don't want to spoil this for other readers--the loss he'd suffered. It's not a justification for cheating! But it made me sympathize a bit more with him.

The book is a page turner. Although I found her analogies a bit jarring at times, the author writes in a style that seizes your interest and doesn't let go until your eyes have traveled over the last word. From the moment he shows up in Atlanta, Beau was on a mission to grow as a person and reclaim his wife and daughter. There were some really tough parts to read that actually brought tears to my eyes. I've been touched by a romance before, but tears? I can't think of the last time that happened.

Ann Christopher did an excellent job of walking you along the difficult path of pain, forgiveness, and trust that marriages suffer through when there is infidelity and other seemingly insurmountable problems.

This is the second Ann Christopher book I've read, and I will look for more. She doesn't disappoint.
