Raton War Years 1940-1945
A short book that well describes the battle. The conclusion is relatively brief and could have been stronger. Ap Bac demonstrated many of the future contradictions and false assumptions that would become readily apparent as U. S. involvement in Vietnam deepened. The author brings this point out, but could have made more of it and did not really attempt to assess blame on the part of U. S. military and political leaders.
