Moving Toward Harmony is a new title on the Japanese martial art of Aikido. This not a technical manual. It is an evocative journey through the principles of Aikido, the Aikido dojo and the application of the philosophy as a way of life. In Moving Toward Harmony Eric Oberg distills 18 years of training into a simple and poetic volume which gives the reader insight into the motivation of the people who make Aikido their way of life. The text is interspersed with black and white photos that capture the beauty of the movement and the gentle nature of the Aikido practitioner. The book begins by looking at the more physical aspects of the art and then unfolds into the realm of the mind, body and emotion to end with a simple definitive statement of the nature of this training,
...do not fear that which makes you a human being
That is Aikido
