This biography was written in a complete way, without being too factually boring. Lucky for us, Mark Twain was not a boring man. You learn about his many adventures, financial ups and downs, his social/family life, and his many professions as well as desires. The story gives a good sense of "time" to the reader by referring to worldly events occasionally throughout the story, such as the civil war. My favorite aspect of this book is how it tells a well-rounded, complete story of the man we've all heard of, but it doesn't try to paint a picture of someone who is flawless. Not hiding some of his negative qualities gives you the feeling that you got the whole story.
