Marginal Conventions: Popular Culture, Mass Media and Social Deviance Book

Interesting overview and look at how the media has played a role in egging along moral panics in Britain between the 1950s-1990s. Although the phenomenon still seems to exist today, the book is a bit outdated in terms of how easily information is accessible on the internet and the advent of news networks on television. Can't blame it for being published in 1998 though. I felt as if some of the stuff the book pointed out was fairly obvious, although it did give insight into the moral foundations and overarching reasoning behind these panics. Would probably not have read on my own if not for test prep.
