Franciscus Junius the Younger (1590-1677) was initially employed by the Earl of Arundel as a tutor to his son and heir. When the Earl discovered Junius's talents, he commissioned him to restore the lost theory and history of the art of antiquity. Junius produced two complementary books that remain the most exhaustive presentation of valuable ancient writings about classical art.
