Very disappointing. This book, more a coffee table style than anything else, tries to cover Michigan by going along the lakeshores from Detroit north, up and around the UP, then back down to Berrien County. Along the way it jumps to Lansing and then occasionally does something inland, such as Tahquamenon Falls in the UP, but still mostly sticks to coasts. It does have some beautiful photos, some are obviously dated (P. 68, Harbor Springs or p. 61, Ontonagon) while others are simply filler (Four photos of the Ren Cen? P.22-23 is a pumpkin spread, p. 27 is a closeup of cherries). The photo of Miner's Castle is especially disappointing, since that is such a gorgeous location. The photo on page 92 is of Harbor Springs while the text is about Kalamazoo. Overall, not the best book of this type. Check out at the library for the photos, but purchase something else. (I saw the 2013 reprint.)
