Hiero the Tyrant and Other Treatises Book

The theme "tyrant meets philosopher" was apparently extremely interesting to the Greeks. Indeed, Xenophon's play on this theme is just as interesting as those found in Herodotus and Plato. But elsewhere in this mishmash there are treatises about hunting with your dogs and how to correctly ride a horse. Not only are these topics not very edifying, but Xenophon is a poor prose stylist (these, in fact, are so boring, that it is doubted that Xenophon wrote these). If your interest does not wane perusing this volume, you are probably preparing a theatrical production of Spartan everyday life, or are mystically fascinated by every single word you read.
