Not my usual choice for reading material, but I'm glad I read it. Gave me a much greater appreciation for the men from Poplar who served with this regiment. I knew them as farmers, ranchers and businessmen in my hometown. I only had vague recollection that they were veterans due to their membership in the American Legion. This book provided a more personalized understanding of the conditions in the South Pacific.
