This book is an excellent introduction to early 19th century culture, expectations and theatre. The book introduces its reader to not only Bram Stoker but other artistic and literary influences of the period, reknowned and practically unknown. Furthermore, the book makes great connections between Bram Stoker's period/literature and modern literature and portrayals of his Dracula and its cult status.
