This work addresses aspects of diesel fuel injection systems, explaining the evolution of these systems, what systems are available today, and the path for the future. Chapters cover injector nozzle and spray technologies and their impact on emissions, common rail fuel injection equipment, hydraulic electronic unit injectors, unit injectors and unit pumps, and current application issues. The book is not aimed exclusively at either the light-duty or heavy-duty sector, but rather points out where those sectors diverge in their solutions to common problems.
