Daijiro Kato was 250cc World Champion in 2001 and graduated to MotoGP for 2002, becoming 'Rookie of the Year' that season. Everything was looking very promising for him for 2003 with a ride alongside Sete Gibernau in the Telefonica Movistar Honda team, but he was tragically killed early in the season at the Suzuka round of the MotoGP series. At the time of his death he was ranked seventh in the world and was tipped for greatness.

Daijiro Kato: The Official Tribute Book
I know a lot of people -- including my wife -- love this book but i found it boring in the extreme and gave up halfway through. it's all bragging about her family (who are somewhat colorful...at least to her), all snapshots, and absolutely no story. i find it amazing it got so many good reviews. i wanted to throw it across the room...it was so annoying. this book is probably a hoot if you're a member of the author's family but for me, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....
