This book, takes excerpts from the writings of a sixteenth century Dominican. If you can, read the books that these sections were taken from, and read them in the original. If you want a quick introduction into Ven. Luis de Granada's thought though, this is the book for it. The chapters are short and nicely lay out a framework for living a virtuous Christian life. Granada's thought is always straightforward and easyto grasp. Fr. Jordan Aumann, OP is one of Fray Luis' main translators into English. With this book he does a good job not only with the translation, but also the selection of relevant excerpts.
