Atlas of the Far East and Southeast Asia (Picture Window Books World Atlases) Book

This book contrasts the written records of European colonizers with the oral history of the tribes along the northwest coast of Washington. As expected, tales of similar incidents are dramatically different depending on whose perspective we read/hear. The outcome for the tribes is similar across the continents: disease, alcoholism, massacres, deculturation, pillaging of land and villages, bogus treaties. Unfortunately, awkward formatting and poor editing made this book very difficult to read.
