| Quattro Books' publications reflect the unique cultural character and dynamism of Canada today: what it has been, and what it is in the process of becoming. The Canadian literary scene is international; our national experience is informed and enriched through literatures brought by immigrants and newcomers. In 2006, writers Allan Briesmaster, John Calabro, Beatriz Hausner and Luciano Iacobelli came together to form Toronto WordStage, a monthly reading series designed to pair established writers and emerging writers of various genres in the interest of representing the diverse voices of the vibrant Toronto literary scene. The success of this series, and the apparent need for the same vision to be represented in the publishing industry, led to the founding of Quattro Books.
