Quantum Field Theory (QFT) is the most advanced Physical theory that we have today. It is the most successful theory of nature at very small scale, and it has stood the test of time and been remarkably adaptable to all of the interactions that describe the Standard Model. Two of these interactions, electromagnetic and strong, are described by Quantum Electrodynamics (QED) and Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). Unlike the third (weak) interaction, these two are described by a fairly "pure" theory, the one where we don't need to break some symmetry in order to manipulate the fundamental equations. The purity of these theories lends itself to particularly elegant claculational machinery that has been developed over the last sixty years, and it's known as parturbative QFT. All of the basic tools of this calculational machinery are developed in almost any graduate level course on QFT. Such courses usually take student thorough the derivation of all of the most important results, namely the scattering amplitudes, the one-loop corrections and the corresponding beta functions. However, there are very few resources that can take someone beyond these fundamental results and expose some deeper elements of these theories. To my knowledge, there certainly haven't been any textbooks that were up to the task until now. "Lectures on QED and QCD" by Andrey Grozin goes a long way in filling this lacuna. It takes off where most QFT textbook end, and presents a very systematic treatment of higher-order perturbative results. Many of these results are highly nontrivial, and would probably require one to be intimately familiar with the most recent QFT literature. It is of great service for anyone who works with QFT and QED that most of these results are collected in one comprehensive volume. This book is also very readable, and its content flows remarkably smoothly for a set of lectures. Anyone whose Physics research involves anything to do with QED or QCD would be advised to get a their own copy.
