I really enjoyed this book. Sometimes I wished for a little more detail on the chemical processes used by Mme Curie when she was extracting radium from pitchblende, but nonetheless a wonderful biography of an amazing woman of science.

The revolution affected education and make it difficult or it has taking off for many polish people. This part of the story start very sad. 2- In this part of the biography, Curie went to France to finish her studies because of the politocal situation in Poland. When she finised her studies she wanted to go back to poland but she didn't. The reason was Pierre, " A tall young Man with aubern hair and large, limped eyes."(Sarah Dry 15). They spent one year toghether and after one year they married. "She and Pierre were married in a simple ceromony." (Sarah Dry 21). ( Sarah Dry 33). Marie Curie very hard for hard for her to care for a baby and be a scientist. In this part, Curie and her husband discovered three important discoveries. The first discovery was an element called Polognium. Though it was not yet certified as a new element, on 20 July 1898 she announced her discovery of a new susbstance more active than Urainium."(Sarah Dry 33). The second discovery was an other element called Radium. "The evidence strongly suggested that it was a new element."(Sarah Dry 35). The third discovery was the radioactivity. "The insight was this radioactivity is an atomic property of matter. Only a year after the two scientist were married, they made three important discoveries. In this part of the story there are many themes included. Our Main character had discovered two elements and think about radioactivity. Marie is very intellegent, the place were she was born was a symbol of her intellegence. The second theme is family. "Marie felt the burdens as well as the pleasures of varing a new born child."(Sarah Dry 25), there is also the fact that she had a hard choice to take, to go live with her family, the rest of her life or marie Pierre, and live in France, this has also to do with theme family. Marie Curie had succesful life after marrying Pierre. The 3- In this story Marie Curie did many achievmants in her life when lives in Paris. After marrying Pierre she found two elements Radium and Polonium. "Though it was not yet certified as a new element, on 20 July 1898 she announced her discovery of a new susbstance more active than Urainium."(Sarah Dry 33) and "The evidence strongly suggested that it was a new element. ( thy're talking about Radium)"(Sarah Dry 35). She also discovered the radioactivity and she strongly developped the X-rays. Marie dicovered the radio activity and developped the X-rays thanks to Radium. In this story, the way she founds the element was like if she was fated to find them. In this story, family heart a lot Marie Curie and sometimes reconfort her but mostly hearts her. In Curie's childhood, she had three important tragedies, Curie's sister died of typhoid in 1876 when Curie was nine years old." Zosia's death weakened an already ailing Bronislawa" (Sarah Dry 3) (Bronislawa is Marie's mother). Curie's second tragedy was her mother's death when she was eleven years old. She said about the event "This catastrophe was the first great arrow of my life and threw me into a profound depression" (Sarah Dry 4). Curie had a difficult childhood because of these events. The third tragedy is when her husband dies. "He is dead, my son is dead."(Sarah Dry 88). In her life she had two babies Irene and Eve. "Marie felt the burdens as well as the pleasures of varing a new born child."(Sarah Dry 25). Evenif Marie Curie lose almost all her love she continued what all of the person in her family die with Marie finished. The most important event is winning nobels prizes. She wins her first noble price in physic. "She was not the only woman to win a noble price, she wins two." (At the end of the book Sarah Dry. The second noble was in chemestry. She wasn't as happy as the first one because his husband was dead and almost all her family is dead. Marie Curie is a historical and a big scientic woman. The last Marie Curie was not the only woman to win a noble prize, she won two. Marie Curie was born in occupied Poland and helped people in World Word 1. She discovered Polognum and Radiun and Radioactivity and also made discoveries in x-rays. The book Curie was written by Sarh Dry. In this book have a lotof important events without the people that inspired Marie this story will never happen and won't be the same and it will not have the important themes that it has now. In this story our character was one of the most ambitious woman of her time even if she they wasn't inequality for woman. Marie Curie did something that any woman did in our time. "She was not the only woman to win a Nobel Prize, she won two"(Dry). She discovered two elements. Marie discovered Polonium and Radium. Those two elements make her think about radioactivity. After discovering Radium, she thanked about a new substance called radioactivity. Curie was inspired by a scientist to make discoveries on x-rays. Wilhelm Rontgen inspired Marie Curie to make discoveries on x-rays; it was the only thing that she makes discoveries on without being discovered by Curie. In this book, Marie Curie won't be what she becomes without being inspired with many people as Pierre Curie, her parents, Wilhelm Rontgen and Eve Curie. Curie's parents were a very important people in Poland, when Poland was in occupied, her mother was a scientist and she died when Curie was nine. Curie wanted to be like her mother a scientist and also a strong and ambitious person. Pierre Curie also inspired Marie; Marie had a choice between staying in Poland and marrying Pierre the scientist. "She and Pierre were married in a simple ceremony."(Dry 21) If Marie didn't stay in France, she won't do what she did. Pierre inspired Curie by visiting different laboratory, one of them where she find the element Radium. If Curie wasn't inspired by those people she will never do what she did. Curie by Sarah Dry had many different themes that makes Curie someone interesting. The theme family was one of the most important themes because of the place where she was born and the choices that she make. "Thousands of Poles were poisoned, exiled, or sent to Siberian work camp."(Dry 1), Curie's family weren't one of those people because of their high place in society but they were obliged to teach in Russian schools, they tried to do all what they could to teach Poland's history to everybody, especially to Marie. There is also a second party of the theme family. Marie Curie had the choice between come back to Poland or to stay in France with her husband Pierre, she chose Pierre. There is also the theme education. For the theme education, there is two part, the first part is Marie's education, Marie's parents did everything for her protection and for her to have a good education, the second part was the fact that she had many troubles to educate her daughter Irene. Marie Curie's parents did everything to educate Marie because the death many member of her family. This story had a lot of good events that were happened because Marie Curie was inspired by mostly scientists, all these good events includ good themes. Marie Curie had discovered many things as I mention in the first paragraph. Marie Curie was someone that is ambitious, everytime someone inspired about something, she realiz it. This book includ a lot of themes as family, miserable childhood, responsibility... . We can all learn from the auther message that nothing is impossible even if you had a lot of miserable events past in your life and never gave up. The last last "Marie Curie was not only the first woman to win a noble prize, she won two." (Dry). Marie discovered Polonium and Radium and also made many discoveries in Radioactivity. One of her research, make her very sick and die because of the sickness caused by radioactivity. The biography of Marie Curie was written by many writters, mine was written by Sarah Dry. In this book many important events and tragedies happened. The tragedies was very hard for Curie, everytime a hard tragedy that was mostly death make her stop or continue her research, themes was included in this book. In Curie's life many hard tragedies happened. When Curie was nine, her first big tragedy happened, her sister died because of Typhoid. " Zosia's death weakened an already ailing Bronislawa" (Sarah Dry 3). The second death that was her mother's had totaly weakned Curie."This catastrophe was the first great arrow of my life and threw me into a profound depression" (Sarah Dry 4). The two others big tragedies were her father's and her husband. Her father's death make her stop the education of her daughter and her husband's makes her stop her discoveries for a while. The Curie's life tragedies's were very hard for Marie Curie. In this book, many essential events happened in Curie's life that make her very fame. The most important events makes Marie Curie famous. Curie by Sarah Dry had many different themes that makes Curie someone interesting. The theme family was one of the most important themes because of the place where she was born and the choices that she make. Many tragedies happened in Curie's'life that helped Curie to make the good decision and improve a lot. Many important events happened in Curie's life that make Curie very famous and also make her win noble prize. Themes that I chosed means mostly the first years of her discoveries. Marie Curie had a very miserable life. "She was not the only woman to win a Nobel Prize, she won two"(Dry). She discovered two elements. Marie discovered Polonium and Radium. Those two elements make her think about radioactivity and discovered it, she also makes discoveries on it.
