Review # 1 was written on 2020-04-18 00:00:00 Craig Reimer This is an interesting topic, but I feel like it needs a warning label to remind everyone that economics isn’t a perfect science. Economic theory in the law has its place and value, but as usual legal economists assume every ill in the law can be fixed by efficiency and a graph. Economists are the only people even more likely than lawyers to assume everyone is a rational actor who will proceed like a laboratory model. Economics and contracts are a match made in heaven — economics and criminal law are an Orwellian nightmare. |
Review # 2 was written on 2019-07-14 00:00:00 Candice Barber Deeply interesting and thought provoking, despite the fact that the premise the book makes about the relationship between law and economics is debatable. |
