Review # 1 was written on 2016-10-18 00:00:00 Cindy Maslen [Despite a man (well, boy) rushing off to save his kidnapped love interest, she does her best to escape--and, knowing it's in part a trap for him, tries to get him to not chase after her, unsuccessfully. One big annoyance I had was Blanche's dialogue, and to a lesser extent, her boyfriend. It just didn't sound natural--I had a hard time believing that a dragon would say those things. I was also uncomfortable at times during the World Tour, especially the parts set in India, since the goddess Kali in her death aspect featured so heavily. I'm not certain that it isn't appropriative or stereotypical--and same of the Native Americans encountered later in the book. (hide spoiler)] |
Review # 2 was written on 2020-10-31 00:00:00 Mike Donahue A quick read with a different take on Arthurian legends Picking up a few years after Tomorrow's magic, we learn about the great wide world in this post apocalyptic future. With visits from Kali, Baba Yaga and more, it is definitely a worthy successor. |
