Tonight we're continuing our Forest for the Trees unit study with more readers and read alouds with the theme of trees. This is a DK Reader Level 2. My young reader can read Level 2, but the first page almost turned her off the while book because she couldn't read the words due to the images behind the words on the first page spread. After I read a while she did take over. Very informative. Discussion on tree heights and even I was delighted with the new knowledge of tree roots going as far as the tree is high. More talk if leaves and throughout the seasons as well. In this little non fiction science reader we get tree identification, anatomy, life span, and the uses of trees. This is a wealth of information for the young learner. Biomes are introduce as well. Including North America habitats, rain forests, African forests, Tropical areas and beaches. My daughter was amazed to discover that books and paper came from trees! Gotta love learning! This is a library book, Tipton Co Library. Paperback, early reader.
