I was torn between 4 and 5 star review, mainly because the prose felt a bit clunky in places. However, both the nature of the content, its profound relevance, and overall depth of analysis make this a strongly compelling book. There is certainly a degree of theistic scaffolding employed, which I'm sure will be to the annoyance of some readers. Yet in my assessment, the critique of both the current role of technology in our society and of key philosophical positions related to it stand entirely on their own logical merit. This book is a worthwhile read for anyone looking for a cogent and thoughtful discussion on the role of technology in our society. It also provides a very nice weaving together of various historical threads and movements in philosophy, which provide a strong foundation for grasping key drivers behind our current age.

A facinating book. A collection of many essays from different experts in the field, it discusses the different ethical and practical limits within the field of Genetic Modification and how the ethics vary when applied in a way in which it can be inherited. A really wonderful book and a must read for anyone interested in genetics.
