Review # 1 was written on 2016-02-10 00:00:00 Jean Johnson A fine history of Texas, not really sure why it has a low rating on Goodreads. It's nothing special and it's a little out of date, but it's a readable introduction. Good illustrations and pictures. "For some unknown reason the sheepherder never became a popular figure like the cowboy. Some people today go around trying to look like cowboys, but not one tries to look like a sheepherder."

Review # 2 was written on 2009-10-12 00:00:00 Angela Ceravolo This book's brief descriptions give too little detail about the great leaders of our nation, hence the two stars - may just be a generous two stars at that.
