Bargain (ex-library copy shipped from the US) - this is a solid introduction to the topic with a nod to contemporary links such as Miller's play, McCarthyism, Wiccan and the role of Salem (modern day Danvers) today as a tourist attraction. Written for schools, nevertheless, this is relatively well research and, what's more, objective in its depiction of both afflicted and accused, unlike Marion Starkey's somewhat histrionic tome. Thus, Abigail is not 'rosy-cheeked', nor is Proctor 'honest', which, to the more serious historian, is infinitely preferable. Overall, a quick read (about an hour) and appropriately illustrated and well worth the two-week wait.

This book gives you info on the Salem Witch Trials in 1692. It also compares the witch hunt of then and the communists of the 20th century.
