Review # 1 was written on 2010-04-27 00:00:00 Susan Keller Graeme Kirkpatrick manages to effectively encapsulate a wide range of arguments with reference to technology, its production, and the evolution of its design. He tends to draw from key theorists in his analysis, therefore this book can provide a good foundation for someone wanting to begin their journey along the STS route. His sources include Bruno Latour, Donna Haraway, Cynthia Cockburn, Wiebe Bijker as well as Karl Marx, Antonio Gramsci and Michel Foucault with reference to his analysis of the manifestations of power and hegemony in/around technological artifacts. The text holds few, but nonetheless fascinating examples of technologies and their unique trajectories in society.

Review # 2 was written on 2010-05-04 00:00:00 Michael Thornton More orthodox anthology. Not as contemporary and the introductory material is not as insightful. Nonetheless a good compliation I would say is designed for senior undergraduate courses in the subject of PhilTech.
