Review # 1 was written on 2013-01-31 00:00:00 Brittany Hartwell It was rife with misspellings and while I thought I was picking up a book on Indonesian Muslim women, it wasn't really about that at all. It was an Indonesian man telling me about the rights Islam gave women, which is fine, but not what I thought I would be reading about. |
Review # 2 was written on 2015-01-04 00:00:00 Donald Duncan Reading a book about women equality that written by a male writer gave me a whole new perspective. Syafiq Hasyim wrote it in systematically historic way. It made me understand why women were treated differently from time to time. He also lead us to think and tried to clear a fully understanding that Islam also respect women's right. Not as what people think that Islam is a patriarchal religion. Human is really fallible who has high possibility in making mistakes all the way. The rules that made by human from time to time is full of weaknesses. All I and we can believe is God is good and Islam is a religion that protected its believers both men and women. And I also believe all human (both men and women) are equal in God's eyes as His creation. |
