Review # 1 was written on 2020-05-08 00:00:00 Albert Arauz An expert on Byzantine culture and society, Haussig provides a detailed analysis on the political entity that is the Byzantine Empire throughout the different eras of its existence. The book is divided into sections, representing aspects of the byzantine society, in which Haussig traces their evolutionary development. Through this, readers gain valuable insights into the parallel processes that led to the disintegration of the Roman West, the Islamic East and eventually the Byzantine empire itself. Beautiful illustrations, magnificent photographs and superb writings are the hallmark of this book, making it not only informative but also entertaining. This has to be one of the greatest works in the English world collection of Byzantine history books. Highly recommended.

Review # 2 was written on 2014-12-06 00:00:00 Leonard Hoffman A great selection of 24 mystery-related walks about London. You'll read a lot of stories you had never heard before even if you are a London connoisseur. Must read if you just love walking about and enjoying the not-so-famous sights.
