Review # 2 was written on 2012-12-31 00:00:00 Mathew Hawn This is the third volume of Copleston’s seminal work containing books VII through IX. Brilliant. Even the most obtuse philosophies are addressed and made as clear as humanly possible – consider Sartre for example. Superlatives elude me about the brilliant Copleston. His contemporary Bertrand Russell pales in comparison. It is a pity that so few – including Philosophy majors – have ever been exposed to him.
