Review # 1 was written on 2019-01-01 00:00:00 Scott Clausen Read this book after learning about Salvatore Maddi's work in resilience training in David Rock's book "Your Brain at Work." The US Army has instituted across-the-board stress hardiness training for all recruits, based on Maddi's research and methods. Rock's book had referenced much of what Maddi's book from 2005 explicates, but in a more contemporary and engaging way. Maddi is not a great writer, so the text reads almost like cue cards sometimes, rather than flowing and expanding on the ideas within. Nevertheless, Maddi's work remains of keen interest to me, so I will investigate future titles by him.
