Dr. Crimm at Sam Houston State University published a compilation of essays on the historical Roberts-Farris Cabin that she and her History class helped restore and rebuild in downtown Huntsville. The best part of this book is Dr. Crimm's essay at the beginning as she talks about the project: how it got started, the troubles, the emotions, etc. Some interesting issues are also raised as to whether or not restoring a historical site or artefact also means being historically acurate or only giving off the atmosphere of historical accuracy in order to comply to city ordinances and financial/time considerations. I plan on interviewing Dr. Crimm soon and will post a link to the podcast.

I hate it when I pick up a book cold, read a few passages that are interesting, buy it, and find I've ready the only interesting parts. Kind of like a self-selected movie trailer. And it really isn't about the Thames after the first 1/3. Of course, the interesting parts are when he forgets about the Thames (he goes on at great length about the effects of the Dissolution).
