Review # 1 was written on 2009-08-13 00:00:00 Shanmugaraja T I used this book some years ago to study for my exam with the main author, and it was quite a tough read. Even though it is a slim booklet, this is mostly due to extreme conciseness of the exposition. It is very hard to get a good "feeling" for the subject, and in some parts I couldn't even understand what the text was trying to say. However, it is a very exhaustive survey of the techniques available in the field, and in the later chapters it covers quite a few advanced topics not readily available in other textbooks. Beware that there are a lot of typos as well (an erratum can be found on Prautzsch's university homepage). |
Review # 2 was written on 2014-06-11 00:00:00 Amanda Johnson I am not sure who the audience for this book is. The beginning chapters are obviously geared toward beginners, but the later chapters are quite complex - a remarkable range for a book under 400 pages. The book does a very poor job clearly explaining advanced topics. |
