Review # 1 was written on 2018-02-14 00:00:00 Leonard Norris by Andrea Renee Cox Good stuff first: There were lots of great scientific information and facts, and I liked that this book used words that children will be able to read or sound out (other than a few meteorological terms). What I didn't like: This book said we don't know when the first rainbow was seen. I beg to differ, because the one Noah saw in Genesis was the first recorded rainbow in history. This book claimed a prism was a triangle. As a math tutor, I am familiar with all types of prisms (rectangular prism, triangular prism, trapezoidal prism, etc.), and each are named for the shape of its base. There was an oddly placed insert on sky technology. It seemed to belong to a completely different book, because nothing on this two-page spread had anything to do with rainbows, the subject of this book. Overall, this was a good book, but I did find a couple of the "facts" to be poorly researched (as mentioned). I was not compensated for this honest review.

Review # 2 was written on 2008-10-08 00:00:00 Amit Persaud Science Matters: Rainbows is geared toward the older elementary school student. Facts about rainbows, weather, and meteorology are presented in this fact book. Experiments, biographies, trivia, and additional informational sites are given in the back of the book. Used for "Rainbows" storytime: July, 2011.
