Review # 1 was written on 2013-11-22 00:00:00 Tatsuhiko Yamamoto Despite the word 'Science' in the title, this book is more philosophy than science. Published in 1965, some of the concepts presented here is a bit outdated, however the sentences are beautiful and thus worth the read. The authors define living as functional existence, that which concerns not with 'what' but 'how' things are done. Health as functional existence demands mutual synthesis between organism & environment. The author then goes further with trying to define it across space & time with 'memory' and 'wish'. Beautiful work. I wish recent non-fiction books are written like this! |
Review # 2 was written on 2014-10-18 00:00:00 Rajan IYER This book is faded and the edges of the pages are well-worn. I use this book at least once a week to look something up, and sometimes I just open to a random page and start reading. This book has done me well. |
