Review # 1 was written on 2010-06-01 00:00:00 Robert Wheeler I think that I liked this book even more than the first book (Agnes Hahn)! It was more about Agnes/Lilin which made it an even more interesting read. The ending, though, was a bit of a disappointment, but many of the questions raised in the first book were answered, and truth to tell, I am not really sure that there could have been a more satisfactory ending. I know that I would have been frustrated by an open-ended conclusion with hints of a third book (though I would have read it). There were still a few lingering threads and I suppose, technically, the ending would allow for a third book... so who knows? The plot of this sequel was much faster-paced and the characters were all a lot stronger and more developed than the first book. It was definitely a fast read!Agnes Hahn

Review # 2 was written on 2013-04-23 00:00:00 Robert Warren I was so disappointed by the ending of the book, although I guess it was the only possible ending. Also I preferred the 1st book in the series. I don't find that this book added much that wasn't already mentioned in the 1st one. Although we get a bit of information regarding the traumatic events of the time that Agnes was 3-4 years old, it was clearly not enough for me. In these stories I like to dig deeper and try to understand the psychological reasoning, which was lacking here. But, I still liked the book, although I will not read again!
