I'll be looking out for an updated version of Prevention and Control of Juvenile Delinquency by Richard J. Lundman, because it read like an excellent undergraduate read for students interested in juvenile justice. The book took a comprehensive but succinct survey on all parts of juvenile justice, and concluded by essentially stating we should eliminate our efforts to prevent delinquency. Instead, Lundman concludes, we should invest prevention funds towards strengthening kids and families; rather than trying to prevent delinquency specifically, we should do things like increase our provision of early education, provide family services like access to health care and living wages, etc. Lundman also argued delinquency prevention, when present, should look like diversion, or taking steps to keep kids out of the system when they engage in delinquent behavior, rather than running them through the system. A good, quick, but a bit dated, read.

This was required reading for a Juvenile Justice course. The material was fine, but there were several grammatical errors that made reading difficult at times.
