Content/Scope: This edition covers all forty two presidents including Barack Obama. The biographies begin at birth and provide information about their education, marriages, families, careers, and life after the presidency. Arrangement/Presentation: Presidencies are arranged chronologically. Portraits, photographs, and a list of Web sites are provided. Appendixes offer a timeline for each presidency. In addition, three indexes, including a birthday index, are included. Accuracy/Authority: This atlas has received positive reviews by reputable review sources. Relation to Similar Works: The Complete Book of Presidents and States by School Specialty Publishing is a similar publication. Timeliness/Permanence: This resource should remain relevant for the next four to eight years due to the fact it includes Barack Obama. It would need to be replaced sometime after a new president is elected. Cost: $55.00 Rational for Selection: The new standards require students to read biographies and this book would provide a good starting place for students researching and reading biographies about presidents. Review # 2 was written on 2015-03-11 00:00:00 Leslie Torres It's a textbook. So, it reads like a textbook. Useful info but I would have preferred a pop history if I could have found one.
