Review # 1 was written on 2008-05-21 00:00:00 John Chavis I thought this would be a book of literary walks and tours. Instead it is a book of random literary history, without a true guide to places. The exception being Joyce's Ulysses, where it tells you how to replay Bloomsday. But otherwise, its more lives of authors than literary landmarks. The last 5-6 pages of "Places of Interest" should have been how the whole book was organized. Anyways, not what I was expecting and I will need to find other resources to do literary tours of Ireland. |
Review # 2 was written on 2007-11-04 00:00:00 Neil McElroy This book was given to me as a gift. Unfortunately, it really doesn't have enough information on the things I really wanted information on. Some of the places I was researching in Scotland weren't even included in the guide. The guide does list websites for main attractions which is helpful but I could have found those through google for free. |
