A little bit dated (released in 2007; most of the websites listed are MySpace pages for various artists), but a good intro to hip hop and rap for those of us who have only experienced hip hop and rap via Hamilton. I'm interested to grab some of these albums from the library and listen to the early days of rap.

This book is a biography. I think the theme of the book is peace. Bob Marley was all about world peace. He just wanted everyone to get along with each other. The book is about how Bob comes from living in the poor part of town to the person who was before he died. Bob started performing on the streets. Him and some of his friends started performing together and started a band. The band got a couple record deals and didn't really go anywhere. After a while the band broke up and Bob was alone. Bob became Rastafarian. A religion very popular in Jamaica at the time. He was all about being peaceful and not going to war. Bob Marley was a famous singer. He was very popular for his style of music. His music was very inspirational for people and still is today. Bob was very caring, laid back, and overall just a great guy. This book is very inspirational and shows how people can do anything if you put your mind to it. Some things that people didn't like about Bob was one of his performances before a presidential event. People thought it was to persuade people to vote for one of the candidates. Overall this is just a great book. I would recommend it to everyone that likes Bob Marley.
