Review # 1 was written on 2016-05-02 00:00:00 Pablo Hernandez Since I live near the Scioto Marsh I found some of the locale and characters in this book to be familiar to me. The Marsh was drained in the 1880's and grew vegetables-mainly onions. The muck was as deep as a "tall pioneer" but now only a few inches thick due to wind and erosion. I saw a muck storm ince in the 1980's....had to turn the lights on in a school room as it was so dark. There was grit on everything! |
