Review # 1 was written on 2008-07-13 00:00:00 Barbara Kirkland This book is a compilation of the stories of a number of talented women from the aikido community, ranging from the very traditional to the extremely avant garde. I really enjoyed the opportunity to "meet" a number of fine female martial artists and hear their stories.

Review # 2 was written on 2015-03-07 00:00:00 Alan Walton A collection of interviews with female black belts in Aikido. Overall it's more of a spiritual/emotional look at the martial art. The concept I believe was to get the viewpoint of women in what was considered to be a more male dominated role. I found some of the interviews to be outstanding, and others were just OK. A little touchy feely for me. It seemed dated as well, but that is to be expected as the role of women in society changes over time.
