Review # 1 was written on 2012-10-13 00:00:00 Raj Puni The best thing about being the chaplain of a (fairly) large high school? The power to force all of the incoming freshmen to read your book! That's how I came to read this one. I don't remember a single thing in this book that related to Catholicism--not that they weren't there, of course--only talks about recipes for meatballs and other Italian-American staples. If you do an image search for "Father Jim Vlaun" you'll understand why. |
Review # 2 was written on 2016-01-21 00:00:00 Thomas Tierney This book is full of warmth, wit and wisdom written to inspire us to experience the value and impact of the Daily Examen in our contemporary lives. The stories and current day illustrations, often through rock music, are inviting and accessible. In the modern day spirit of Ignatius Loyola, Msgr. Jim helps deepen our desire to practice the Daily Examen so that we can have a deepening awareness of how God communicates with us in our daily lives. |
