Review # 2 was written on 2019-03-25 00:00:00 David Landsman Really enjoyed reading this well-researched book. It made me wish there were true stars like Jeanette MacDonald in Hollywood today. My biggest criticism of the book is that it doesn't flow very well; many of the transitions aren't good. It does give, in addition to details about MacDonald, an interesting historical perspective of Hollywood, the United States, and the world. It also, I think, lays to rest the purported "romance" between MacDonald and Nelson Eddy. All-in-all, a good read.
