Review # 1 was written on 2018-03-03 00:00:00 Curtis Golladay An innovative and elegant addition to the philosophy of mind. To my mind, this approach is highly complimentary to that of Eugene Gendlin. |
Review # 2 was written on 2018-11-04 00:00:00 Jhone Linas i was hoping this book would either present me with a model i didn't already know of (from my being familiar with many of the works cited) &or provide a detailed technical framework that would be consistent enough with physics that people who dont have direct experience with ~*woo*~ would be able to directly interact with the dynamics of the mind on a subtle level, but i don't think this book did either. it felt like an advocation for applying strangeloops and complex dynamical systems to one's conception of mind, and if one's already studying those subjects theyre likely to be doing this already. plus Dempster expanded Varela sufficientlly years before this book. |
