Review # 1 was written on 2016-09-23 00:00:00 David Choi I saw this book in the "free stuff" bin outside my local bookstore, and almost didn't pick it up because I thought the title was corny. Also, why would a good book be free? However, after picking it up and reading it, I realized it would have been a mistake not to. Even though Bender likes to quote himself, and some parts might be ofputting to some people, overall it's a very thought-provoking, and dare I say important book. I highly reccommend it for the value of the ideas involved. |
Review # 2 was written on 2021-04-12 00:00:00 Steve Phelps My level of understanding of economics is somewhat unsophisticated and as such the best part of this book past right over my head. I love the premise though - meeting the arguments of the disenfranchised West with factual data, and putting the West into the overall national economic context. No score just because I had to skim through much of it after the first two chapters, purely because it is very outdated (unfortunately) and again because of my level of econ smarts. |
